Individual Medical Grants

The Sir Dorabji Tata Trust provides individual medical grants to needy and deserving patients for medical and surgical care. The maximum disbursement for an individual patient is Rs 100,000, covering expenses incurred towards costs of major surgeries like neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, skin graft surgery for burns, cancer, kidney transplant and others. The grants are also available to patients who are physically handicapped. Though the quantum offered is modest and small, the grants bring much-needed financial relief to the patients and their families.

The Trust gives priority to cases within Mumbai in view of the difficulties in assessing cases outside Mumbai. The thrust is to help poor patients from government and municipal hospitals. Individual medical grants are one-time grants.
