The Trust’s interventions in Livelihood sector are closely linked to the projects in the Management of Natural Resources sector. The Trust believes that the livelihood’s approach should be one, which is people-centric with micro-macro linkages that are sustainable and also address the changing requirements of the environment.

To address these concerns, the Trust has focused on the following areas:

»
On increasing agricultural productivity.
»
On capacity building of the self-help group (SHG) movement including projects on micro-credit and micro-finance.
» Self-employment and entrepreneurship training and stabilizing livelihoods of the urban poor through advocacy and working with those displaced by jobless growth.

In the field of unorganized labour in both the urban and rural areas, the Trust has made forays into uncharted territories, supporting organizations that work innovatively on economic issues with a rights-based approach.
